Handmade rugs have been produced along the banks of the Ganga River for centuries. Mat the Basics, a family firm, has been active here for fifty years or so. The company´s goal is to develop new types of rugs in which material and weaving techniques are combined in new, exiting ways. All production is done by workshops working with the best materiasl available, wheather they are for hand tufting, hand weaving or hand knotting.
